About us - Why “A Saint for Friend” Cabrinian Family Association?

On the occasion of the 2000 year Jubilee, a group of people already active within the volunteering for the Church and the Cabrinian Family,  guided by Mons. Carlo Ferrari, gave life to a Cabrinian Committee for the realization of religious, cultural, musical events in honour of Saint Francis Cabrini. There are two important anniversaries: the 150th year of her birth and the 50th year of her proclamation as Universal Patroness of emigrants.
 
This spontaneous group of people has continued to meet themselves with the awareness of the need to improve the knowledge of Mother Cabrini, both on a personal and collective level. The desire of being an Association has strengthened in all those related to the Saint in order to combine resources, energies, ideas, to give a more efficient and effective structure and to become a point of reference in the “Lodigiano” reality.
For this reason the “Saint for a friend”  Cabrinian Family Association was born. Its main purpose is to known, love and imitate Saint Francis Cabrini, in full Harmony with the local Church and in direct relationship with the Missionary Sister of Sacred heart of Jesus Institute.

Opening, care and maintenance of St Francis’s birthplace and guided tours

Management of the centre of Cabrinian documentation

Support to the "Cabrinian mission Dubbo in Ethiopia": distant adoptions, women’s development, grandparents aid, St Francis Cabrini group, “baby Jesus” centre, “water, life and health” project; “a meal a day” project; “a dress, a gift, a smile” project

Organization of concerts, exhibitions, conferences
